When I created my FemShep, I chose ''The Colonist'' profile. Then I started to think about her life in the colony. Mindoir sounded like a french word (though it has no meaning in French), so it was a logicalal assumption M. could be a colony of francophone people, like a closed community escaped from Earth to settle down on a nice planet where they could live on their own. At that time I studied at my first university and my specialisation was about Québec culture so I decided it would be cool that parents of my Shep was from Québec and though she was born on another planet she considered herself a québécoise))

OMG, this has to be the coolest thing I've ever read for a Shepard background... And you're right, Mindoir totally sounds like a French name! My first Femshep's mother was actually French Canadian and I made her Father Scottish.
