Okay, this is the second time I've seen this page and only NOW I realized that it was Ashley's hair knob that was keeping the pod open... THIS IS GENIUS! I'm just stupid. XD

I picked Mordin for the escort on the playthrough for the no one left behind achievement, but on my current insane playthrough I am trying to get as many killed as possible for fun so no loyalty missions and pick all the wrong people for tasks.
I might select someone like Grunt for the escort mission cos he is tough and the squad could use him in the last fight against the collectors. Hence, more squad members should die. I might even be able to get shepard killed (it's ok I already imported this shepard into me3)!

I admit you make a good point, I once thought this as well: Since Ash was frozen on Horizon along the colonists, why did not the collectors take her? Seems only logical to me...maybe she scared them away with a hidden cross or something?

It may be because you had the most resilient squad members in your final team. If you took Grunt and Zaeed, I think the chance of Mordin staying alive gets lower

Only lost Thane on one try, that was sending him through the vents. Next play thru, sent Legion in the vents and didn't lose anyone.
Well, I lost most of the crew, but that was a separate matter.

Thane is not ment for the vents, only Legion and Tali are.
Team leaders are Garrus or Miranda.
Bubble girls are Jack and Samara.
Escorts are Jacob or Mordin.
Your Final Team should only consist of one Tank and other squadmate that isnt (that makes sure the left team would all survive)
This of course if you have all the upgrades and all loyalties before this.

A small correction, if I may, Legion, Tali and Kasumi qualify for tech expert, escort should be the _less_ resilient one (Mordin, Tali, Jack, Thane) and those best to bring to fight the Human Reaper are also the less resilient ones. The most resilient ones, like Grunt, Jacob, Zaeed and Samara should stay behind and not be with you.
