This scene becomes less cute, then people find out that the first time they met a person was killed.
And that Russia would have died, if he actually wore something like this.
And the fact that Russia was around 150, while Lithuania was just a toddler.
I guess Himaruya didn`t even try.
Anyway, even though I do not understand why do people like this couple, I still enjoy your art a lot. You made a big progress, thats for sure.
Good luck with your art

Well, they still had relationships. At least from the movies of Eizenstein and Tarkovsky I know that some nobles of Russia were traveling to Lithuania, some of them asking for protection and others to seal deals. Even in a Brecht's play it's mentioned.
After all, what happens later, it's another story.
(about the clothes, really how do pople work it up there???? Even in Andrei Rubliev I am seeing the clothed and wonder how didn't they freeze to death)
Well, these two countries have a strange relationship which in human forms is translated as Stockholm Syndrome, which I see it a lot in Lithuanians which even knowing what USSR had caused to them, they seem to be very attached to Russians. I know that because I have many friends that are Lithuanians. Even the great actor Donatas Banionis, which was living and working during USSR and in fact he had tried to escape, said that he loved Russians and he liked working with them. The political condition was the problem.
Thanks I guess...I try ^^"

We survive by wearing fur coats. They are beautiful and very warm. And, I guess, we got used to cold conditions. However, we do get really hot summers. If I remember correctly, it was over +40 all summer in Moscow last summer.
Unfortunately, watching movies is not enough. Lithuania and Russia were fighting a lot. It also continued with Polish-Lithuanian common wealth. In a short, Poland with Lithuania were like England and Russia was France. And this continues to this very day. They wanted to conquer Russia in order to show the others how strong they are. For the same reasons they wanted to covert us into catholicism. For two years Moscow was under their rule, untill we kicked them out. Also Poland and Lithuania took Russias sisters. In respons, Russia got mad. Of course, I am not saying that Russia was all innocent in this fight. Later on ambitions came and so on. Even if some deals were made, they were mostly for treads. And I really don`t remember, when did Russians asked Lithuania for protectins. Maybe, you can remind me (no irony, I am really interested).
Also, do not believe those fairytales about abused Baltics. Russia wouldn`t even dare to touch them, because they were European and he wanted to show others, how good those places are. Lithuania was prosporous resort. If Lithuania does have a Stockholm Syndrome for someone, its for Poland. As well as Estonia has for Germany. Even today Lithuania is Poland`s right hand. Oh, and don`t forget, how Lithuanis tried to make other NATO countries announce Russia "terrorist state". You know, love. I have recently seen one Lithuanian business magazine, that showed Russia as evil oil-octopus, that surrounded some countries, including Lithuania, and was choking tham.
Long story short, Russia and Lithuanid didn`t really have good relationship. They would get warmer once in a while, but warmer doesn`t mean warm.
Sorry for writing that much. I become very passionate when it comes to Russia

Oh, no I ment also in these movies. The clothing was too light for snow...
Yes I've read of that about last summer.
Well, of course it is not enough, but I have read about it also. As you said Lithuania was in the commonwelth with Poland. And like it or not Poland was ruling around. I had done a very serious project in my university and, even if I knew already that Poland was taking over, I found out that it was much worse than I thought. They treated Lithuanians as their vassals and always wanted more land so they occupied Ukraine and Belarus too. And not just that. I even read that Lithuanians were troubled about Poland going too far. And that's more obvious after the whole thing with Soviet Union. When Tsar fell, Poland demanded their independence, as the others did. And it would be ok if they weren't going too far again and taking over a huge piece of Ukraine, Belarus and attacked to occupy Vilnius too. Something Lithuanians say often is that Poland always want to get Lithuania and recreate that Common-wealth, but they want Lithuania to be their servant.
About the protection thing, there were many cases of nobles that ran to Lithuania to get protected if they had troubles with the Prince or Tsar. You know, political reasons. Nobles during Ivan the horrible is a fine example.
Wow, wait. I don't know what they teach you there but they are not fairytales. People were exciled to Siberia and get excecuted back then. Russians and Baltics. It's not fairytales, it's true! There are graves, proves and so on. Alliences and so on make things more complicated, but every generation has a different point of view, as every person as well.
And if you want to talk about Politics and magazines and so on, remember that it was also said that Putin wanted to get back all these states, starting with Ukraine and Baltics and Romania would follow. I've read that, I can't know if it's true, so the fact something is writen doesn't mean that represents all the people. And when there is a very common saying in Lithuania "Better Russia's slaves than Poland's friends" you can see that the Stockholm Syndrome but also preferance goes to Russia. In Politics Poland has the upper hand and demands things from Lithuania all the time. So, yeah, someone form outsilde will see these two cooperating on everything, but that doesn't mean that people of both nations like this situation.
Yeah, warmer might don't mean warm, but it might be a better option than cold.
I noticed, but I want to remind you that except of history Hetalia it's just another anime. So, the pairings that might appear are mostly based on how the anime characters are developed. That's why there are so many crack pairings that make no freaking sense as nations's combinations. Or pairings like Turkey and Greece, which I hate because I am a Greek and historically even now they are our worst enemies. But I won't go and comment about it in every picture I see. I will get upset and go to the next.
Personally, I prefer pairings that have a base on reality, even if it's more complicated. Afterall, I don't remember ever making a pairing picture of clearly Lithuania and Russia saying about any perfect, sweet and tender relationship or anything.
In any case, it's an anime based on countries, but still an anime. I remind you that as I am trying to remind myself too, so I will avoid getting upset with things. If I remember right, you had told me once that you didn't like the male version of Russia. As you have to ignore that, try to ignore the pairings you don't like as well. Many of them make no sense anyway.
Can we please end it here because I am sick and I can't handle so much writting anymore? When you write long answers with analysis I must answer back the same way and I can't handle it right now, sorry.

Forest brothers were groups of people in Baltic region who were fighting against Soviet Union. It could have been a noble cause, if they didn`t appear in 1941 during German regime. They continued acting up untill 1957 and even longer in Lithuania as it was way better armed and organised there. I am pretty sure that some entered the group for a noble cause, but Forest brothers were mostly killing people, including locals. For example, my grandma, who was living in Estonia in 1950s, saw a russian soldier killed by three of those brothers and hang on the post. In fact, most of the deportations happened because of these people.
Well, its better to read about them when you get better.
But you do draw same single caracters as well. Plus, I still hope that one day you will draw an another couple. What can I say, hope dies the last

Ah, I know their story. And in the Lithuanian movie Niekas nenorejo mirty, groups like that were the bad guys that killed people and so on and the protagonists, which were called "the Lithuanian version of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurais", were tha ones that hunted them and killed some of them. (I am mostly answering with movies, sorry about that, but I study theater and Cinema, so...)
That's what I do the most and cinema crossovers.
Correction. Except the Hetalia Art College and some nyo X Cannon, I don't draw RusLiet as a couple.

I didn't know them with that name but yes I do know them generally
I hope you have noticed I am aware of history. After all my parents write and publish historical books.
If you have notice and most of all if you would read the roleplay you would see that I mention that a lot. For example I have made an answer in the ask about LOMO and the cinematografic cooperation with France; even in the first movie in Canes after USSR, "Burned by the sun". I also mention a lot Dovzenko and so on from Ukraine, who's Russia's big sister.
In the characters the Liet-Kino is most likely an assistant. A part of Soviet-Kino. And that's why my character, Kino-Ivan is close with Kino-Toris. Let's say you have a company, da? You have other companies that you cooperate with, so people that work WITH you as equals, but also you have people that work FOR you. Got it? But that's how it works for Hetalia Art College. Afterall, Lithuanian cinema and TV was very attached, and it kinda still is, with Russian. Even the current Lithuanian generation watches more Russian animation and movies than anything else. There is a reason you don't find easily Disney films in Lithuanian until the 3 last ones, but it's very easy to find Russian ones in LietTV.
The Hetalia crossovers I do with Cinema, usually have nothing to do with it. For example, the crossover with Hobbit, or Stalker (which was a request and the roles were already given by the one that made the request), or the one I've made with fem!Russia and Lithuania in Solaris, was because the protagonist was Lithuanian and the woman that was playing his mother was Russian and looked like fem!Russia; all these and more were independed of Hetalia Art College.
Also, sometimes, since the Hetalia art College is an ask account based on role play, people ask for things about cinema both Ivan and Toris, and even if I think that in some cases, like an Eizenstein movie ask, Toris had nothing to do with it, I had to add him there since the question includes him as well. It's not my fault people kinda pair them. There are also many times they ask them if they are something more or like eachother otherway, but they both answer no. Because, first of all, they are not homosexuals.
And to fill my quriocity, which pairing would you like to see, since, if I am not mistaken, you don't pair countries?

Seems that you have a very intelligent family.
Russians and Ukranians always fight about that fact, who`s older. For centuries already. Poor Belarus. Though, she has her own little maddness - she fights with Lithuania over who was the real Lithuanian principality. We all worth each other.
Wow! Now, when you explain everything, I feel stupid. I knew you had a lot of arts where characters just posed with each other, no feeling intended. But that much... Yep, I am defenitely an idiot.
You are right, I do not pair countries. I think they can be friends, but love... it is something more complicated. Maybe, there could be an ideological love or the love for the savior, but it will pass quite soon.
I usually base pairings on real historical figures. For example, Russia/fem!Moldova. It is based Russias first Emperor - Petor the First and his last love, moldovian princess, Maria Kantemir. Her father supported Russia in the war against Ottomans and lost. So, Peter rewarded their family for loyalty and gave them residence in Russia. Peter and Maria fell in love and she got pregnant. However, Emperor had a wife and was going to devorce her. She didn`t want to loose power and ordered to kill the baby. Maria lost her mind and Peter quite soon after. Rumours say, with some help of his wif as well. Sad story, I know. When Russians made a movie series about them, Moldova awarded it.
There is also a very interesting, yet sad story about simple Russian girl and the prince of Siam (Thailand). There are a lot of books about it, so I don`t think I should say much about them.
If you want somthing outside Russia, than it is France/N. Italy. They had a lot of historical connections, but I have found a perfect human story about them. Twin Italian actrisses Marisa and Anna Maria Pierangeli with Marisa marring French actor (some drama involved, but it ended well) and Anna Maria dated an American actor (more drama, less happy ending)
Of course there are some others (Central African Republic/fem!Romania), but I don`t want to bother you.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. How and Ukaraine is the older sister?
And there are even more of them. For another example, a comic scene from Nostalgia of Tarkovsky (da, he is obviously my favorite) in which there is Russia as the Russian Poet and chibi fem!Italy as the little Italian girl. How was that would suppose to be a pairing? No bloody way. Being in the same picture with someone doesn't mean anything.
It was just curiocity as I said. I agree love is complicated.
I have noticed Moldova seems to be fond of Russia. However, in Hetalia it's a kid. I don't do paedophilia. I don't even draw kisses.
Also, I have to make clear I am not trying to pair people or countries. It just happens in roleplay some times, because of the characters's development as personalities and relationships with others.
Based on facts of deplomacy and theater-cinema conections, in the Art College there is also the pairing of Fem!France Actress and Romanian Theater-Cinema. Which resault is an OC Theater-Ion based on Ionesco's Paralogue Theater (Romanian-French category), which was a Francophone Romanian which became famous in France because even now these 2 have some connections. Even in Universities.
And if I was going to pair countries just because actors are married with eachother, well...there are examples of Russians actors marring Lithuanians also. One that comes to my mind now is Aleksey Cadov with Agne Ditkovskite.
But I don't really focus on that. I only might use such facts in crossovers, maybe.

So, there are some people who know that Ukraine is not necesarily the oldest one? Didn`t even expect that.
My God? Did somebody really took that as a pairing?
Don`t get me wrong. I don`t pair countries because of that, I pair characters. Human AU, if you like. But I also look at the countries relationship. If they don`t have anything in common, then I don`t even look at that. For example, France and N.Italy have quite a lot of historical and cultural interactions, while America was taking a lot of immigrants from S.Italy. Russia and Thailand also have good historical relationship. For example, we protected him against England and France.
I didn`t see France with Romania in your gallery, but I will look it up. However, I knew that Romania is concidered francophilic.
I really love kagome-inuyashkina `s fem!Moldova. She is a grown up and very beautiful woman.

I hope not, but if you thought the pictures that include 2 people as pairings, maybe someone elses do as well.
They have also differences and some fights. Over artistic properties for example. All the countries are related somehow. Even in ways the own people of a country is not aware of.
I don't have them in my gallery, to be honest. Only Ion in a comic (which is crossover with Hetalia Art characters and "A midnight in Paris")
I know Kaogome but I didn't remember Moldava as a grown woman. But now you mention it...

Just out of curiosity, when do you think she appeared? If you ever thought about that, of course.
I am not crazy enough to think that two people standing with each other are a pair My bad, if I made you think like that. But if they hug each other or hold hands, then I might get such thought.
Of course they did and do, but they seem so connected in a cultural way. Well, I might easily be wrong.
Countries might be related one way or another, but it is quite strange to pair Belarus and Swaziland, for example. Sometimes, to recognazi each others very existance, something bigger is needed.
Is there any possibility that I can read it?

No, it true.
Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. As I don't like to see Belarus paired with Germany and Prussia, knowing that there were masacries during WW2, for which actually Belarussians and Poles were the ones that got paid for after that. You know, when Germans had to pay for the damage. Greece never got paid and we even had whole villages and cities hollocausts that had nothing to do with Jews. -_-* And now Germans demands movey from us, without having paid theit own depts for war to Greece.
Sure
To explain, in the movie the protagonist traveled back in time and he shared his love problems with the great surrealists. The director Bunuel (which here his role plays Kino-Ivan), the Photographer Man Rey (here Fotografija-Tori) and Dali (here theater-Ion, since Dali was "seen a rhinoceros" and Ionesco had wrote a known play "Rhinoceros", which I have read)

I understand you very well. Never understood, how could people pair Belarus with any of the German brothers after what they did. In fact, there is garely anyone she had any historical relationship with, not to mention any kind of love.
We didn`t really receive any paiment either. Mostly stuff we took away. And even in this case we spent it on Ukraine and Belarus. Plus, we didn`t make Romania to pay, because we wanted it to develop from the distruction. But nobady remembers that.
But I have to admit, you had it worse. I wish your new government makes the difference. I hope.
BTW, Germans could have hollocausted these places as they wanted to exterminate slavics as well. And, since Greeks had a lot of interactions with Southern slavics, you might have fallen in the list. Sorry.

Our "new goverment"? News really travel fast, since the elections were just today, so the resaults practically are not known yet, but I guess it's predictable. But "our new goverment" is only going to drag us in a hell worse than the one we already are in.
Btw, no, there were not slavic population in Greece back then, only in the northern part, thus, no, there were not slavs the ones that got burned back then but Greeks.
As much as I know it must be that. The protagonist was the one who was playing in Sanghai knights and Dali was the villain of The Grand Budapest Hotel

It's not how it sounds though. Or else I should write it in Russian.
I don't think they will.
Can you please do me a big favor? Well, don't get me wrong, I apreciate the fact you add some compliments about my drawing when you comment my pictures, but in fact, you never comment unless you have an argument for the picture. The fact I must explain myself and go in very long conversations like I have to apologize for my artwork, makes me at least nervous. Every time things like that happen, I am feeling I must give up drawing or something. I am very attached with my partners's and mine role play and characters and so on, but I can't live with the fear I might draw something that someone will start scold me about. For example, the other time you commented on the film noir comic, "correctinng" me on the fact that there was no film noir in Soviets. Well, duh, I know that, as I knew that Russia and Lithuania weren't in the best terms. As I proved then and I believe today too, I am not a kid that doesn't know anything about history, and especially the cinema one. In the end we come to agree on things, so why all these endless comments and answers? Is there a point to argue?
There is a saying here. "If you have nothing good to say, you better say nothing".
I want to believe I don't do any huge errors. I know you are very passionate over your country's history, but if every time you see something that's not matching perfectly, you write all these...you must have too much free time in your hands, because there are too many pictures that would make you mad.
As I said I am sick but I had to answer all these and in fact with equally long answers and analysis, because you weren't just attacking, but being polite during saying all these things against the content of my pictures. I don't mean to be blunt, but I had to speak my mind. I am sorry.
So, I politely ask you to try to avoid correcting me. You are not even my watcher. It's not like you chose to see my pictures and having expectations from me. Thus, you don't have to comment if you don't like what you see in my pictures. I hope you won't be offended by my request. It's not personal.
