Description
About 3 hours of work all together. Original is 13 x 9. HB pencil, ink.Based on a dream I had. Whirling black held back by a $5,000 dollar suit. Photo reference used for jacket.

The slouchy suit and trench over it are very well shaded, and the wrinkle work is top notch. The body on it's own looks like something out of English GQ or maybe a London Fog catalog. The abstract head though, it really makes it pop. The way you can just make out the outline of what would've been a head, plus the contrast of the ink vs. the pencil. Very well done.

Either:
A human who has been attacked by some awesome alien weapon called a 'smoker' which makes you turn to inky smoke.
Or:
It is a non-carbon-based alien lifeform posing as a human, a bit like a sort of malevolent Ford Prefect. And he has to wear a mask like the Invisible Man (pictured here relaxing in his garden on a Sunday).
Or he's the latter, but pretends to be the former so he can hatch his evil plans unsuspected.
Maybe.
Seriously though, very nice drawing. I love imagining what's the strange form by his left knee in his jacket lining.

Ok. I just faved amebaone's picture of you, titled Pillowfight, and decided I might as well take a look through your gallery.
I opened this, and it's been open in a window for some time now, and I've stared at it, in between talking to friends and such.
Not only is it a great drawing, technically and such, but there's something that my subconcious is connecting to, and I haven't figured it out yet, but it really has been pulling me in. It completely stole my stares, and I have given the link to some of the people I had been talking with.
You say you had this in a dream, was there any back story to the dream at all, or just this image?? I'm just plain ol' curious is all.

Somewhere around here there's a description of the dream... it could be that I'm thinking of telling ~amebaone about it. At any rate, here you go;
I was part of some counter-terrorist outfit (think Rainbow Six), raiding a large house in the middle of nowhere (think Resident Evil). The guy we were after was some notorious and dangerous villain, but beside that we didn't know anything about him (think Rutger Hower's character in Night Hawks). He didn't put up any fight at first; we stormed the house and caught him easily. He was extremely well dressed, well coifed; very good looking. We had him handcuffed and two of us were leading him down into the basement as he suddenly leaped forward and disappeared around a corner. My squadmate fired through the wall, trying to spray the terrorist. Suddenly he sprung from around the corner with a shotgun and blew my squadmate away. When I tried to fire at him my weapon jammed and he changed shape; into the drawing. No hands, no face. Just swirling black fog. Needless to say, I ran back up the stairs. To make the rest of the dream a little shorter, he slaughtered my entire team. I was running all over trying to back them up, but every time I pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger, the thing jammed. At the very end of the dream I was waiting with a knife in my hand for him to round a corner into the room where I was lurking. I don't know if I got him or not.

Wonderful details, amazing shading.
The looks and pose are very slick, something that I am sure is obvious to you. But I enjoy how it's head is not visible, brings to mind that business man painting, with it's face also hidden. It adds a large amount of enigma to this character, it's basically the centerpiece of it. A mysterious man in a suit.
