I dunno.. O.o I really wanted to experiement with pen again and see what I could do.Done in the spir of the moment with both a trusty pen and paper ^^
Put whatever story to it you want, but itz more or less the makings of a good character design and costume. I wanted to make something that have volume and flowed but was something more than just a dress

You should try experementing with pen a bit!

AH! Don't be discouraged! I'm sure that itz not as bad as you say - to the artist things are always worse than if your were the observer -n_n- And even so, I'd love to see it~ Besides if pen isn't for you, then no sweat! I just found it a good way to train myself to do (or not to do) certain things.

Awesome! So you'll have the same program that I use!!! *phew* @.= This'll save you from a lot of trouble!
Itz called Microsoft Office Picture Manager. You can find it on your start menu when you go to All Programs, then to Microsoft Office, then Microsoft office Tools, then it will be in that lil list ^~^ Open it~ it should show you everything that is up in your My Pictures folder, pick a random pic to experiment on. Preferably something worthless in case of a mistake ^^
Once you've selected a picture, look to the side menu and find Edit Picture. Once there, go NuTs!!
On my picture here, I fiddled a little bit with the brightness and contrast, coupled with a bit of a darker mid-tone. If you want to go back to the Edit Picture menu, there should be a botton up top that reads: Edit Pictures. Then a scooted over to the Colour section and up-ed the saturation a bit to make a less dull blue outline. You can bounce back a forth between these tools and best of all, you can Ctrl Z all of your mistakes, no matter how far back they are! =n________n=
You'll get used to the different tools but experimenting with them.
Okay, most important thing of all here!
The thing about this program is that you there are a few tricks that you have to know before saving anything. ALWAYS select Save As for when saving your picture and the changes you've made, unless you are sure you want to save over the original completely. If you do Save As and then try to exit, you'll get a lil window saying that there are changes you have not saved and asks if you want to save. Make sure to press Don't Save or else it will overwrite your original! {I've learned this the hard way =.=}

ooOoOooh! ALsO - If you wanted to get rid of the brown edges your computer picks up when you scan it, you could get around that by drawing smaller on the page so that your image doesn't touch the corners and then cropping the edges off. Sort like what I did for this deviation ^____________^
