Asking why can't we have like a big Hollywood story about a mermaid and robot together in some way shape or form is like asking why they keep making reboots. It's because Hollywood is going through a particularly intense phase where they're REALLY scared of putting new ideas out there, in case they won't bring in money. I don't hate all reboots, but I agree that it's gotten well out of hand--especially in movies where the explanation for the reboots seems null. At this point I agree with the mass of the internet: Unless a particular reboot is clearly done with a different creative approach (not just switching the medium from 2D animation to CHI), people should just stop seeing them and demand Hollywood to pick up original scripts for movies again.

Yeah especially the Disney reboots. God they need to calm down man. It's like the second they release one, they're suddenly like "Oh here's like two or three more were gonna do!" Disney, calm the fuck down please. Now I didn't mind that they did Cinderella and I did kinda like that the Maleficent movie was like in an alternate universe where she wasn't actually evil, but then they suddenly got to repetitive. I heard the Lion King one was straight butt cheeks but idk. Anyways, I get that they're worried but come on, if they give it a try like they did back then, I'm sure they'll make a box office success!
