It's a little something like this, where colors softly merge into others in a satisfyingly smooth blend!
It's pretty difficult to do with watercolors, in my opinion, especially on a larger scale.
It's one of the most common kinds of watercolor "washes" along with a flat color wash.
It's used to paint skies mostly, with a blue color at the top, slowly fading out to white at the bottom!
