Love this. Although I would argue that screwed could also refer to Anne Boleyn, as those charges against her were most likely ALL trumped up and lies.

Anne of Cleves was also was in attendance when Mary was crowned Queen of England. She passed on not long after.

You are forgiven. Everyone is entitled to an "off" day.

This is absolutely beautifully constructed. The use of the 's'es and the formatting of each word is wonderfully creative and genius, I think.

Recently, I've found interest in the tudor era as well. I've done personal research on the history and really love the stories behind everything. Really, I've researched more of a history of the era according to the women within it, but I know enough of the history altogether. It's nice to finally find someone of a like mind. Anyone you ask about Henry and his six wives typically only know much about Anne Boleyn, who is clearly the most famous of the six. However, she certainly isn't the most interesting, nor is she the most admirable.

On the other hand, there is Anne of Cleves who moved away from her home in Germany to marry this king, was immediately insulted the man, was married to him for six months, then divorced him. She stayed in England for the rest of her life an never remarried. Yet, she also received a more than generous pension from Henry, including two different estates. She was given the title 'The King's Beloved Sister' and became the most politically active of all Henry's wives. Because of his later friendship with her, he often went to her for advice. Why is she only known as the ugly one?

I'm sorry, I know you probably don't need a history on Anne of Cleves. If you know enough about her to call her your favorite, then you've obviously done your own research on the woman. It's just nice to find someone else who thinks of this intelligent lady in the same way I do. It seems that everyone else likes Anne Boleyn the best, merely because she's the most famous.

You have no idea how much I love this comment. I had a rather sucky day today and to come home from school and see this just made my day. So thank you!

I agree with you. I have no idea why this woman doesn't have more people interested in her. Just the story about her and her painting mix up was enough to interest me in her. She was awesome and I really hope more people become interested in her.

It's no problem. I sometimes wonder why Anne Boleyn is so famous when the exact same thing happened to Katherine Howard, but meh.

I agree with =SilverInkblot , although I disagree with the bold part and her suggestions there. I see your reasoning for all of the formatting that you have done.. and I really think it's brilliant how you've portrayed a visualisation of what has happened.

The words themselves are fantastic.. especially as they're all so different, but also the same, sort of...

It's experimental, and I like that about this piece as well as the fact you've used words that begin with s... any particular reason for that?

I chose the 's' because it's the letter that starts 'six', the number of wives and words.

Thank your for the comment.

This is a wonderfully creative way of going about six word stories Granted, I needed the context to fully appreciate it, but once I got it, everything clicked into place beautifully.

Your use of formatting is clever as well - I'm particularly fond of "s evered." The only thing I have critique wise is to maybe bold "survived" for a little extra bit of impact, but that's just nitpicking at this point

I chose to bold son instead of survived because wife number three (my second favorite, Jane Seymore) gave him the most important thing, a son. She was also Henry's supposed favorite wife so I wanted to emphise her.

Thank you for the favorite and the comment.
