Yes and no. It works as far as bringing in income, but it's not really sustainable as a main income method since it's kind of an on-the-side thing while you're working on something else. That depends on how quickly you can move product and finish pieces though. Pricing's tough, I'm not sure I've hit it well either. Best thing to do for that though is look up a lot of other artists' commission sheets, figure out what options you want to offer, and compare your work to theirs to find out where you fit in the market.
