Thanks for your comment! Not that I think it was a euphamism or anything but if you ever dislike a photo or think it is just plain boring then I'd love for you to share that. I know I pull a lot of punches sometimes when commenting because I'm not sure how people will take my honesty but be assured that even if your honesty smacks me upside the head I'll be most greatful because it will help me evaluate my work more objectively. Sorry, I should have been more detailed. I don't think anyone else has noticed, but I love the way you have the person appearing just like all the other piers. Also, there is the additional effect of many of the piers having a slightly human form (my instinct is that you added this, if not it's even more amazing).

No apology needed! You can be as vague or detailed as you like just as long as it's an honest response. Wow, I never even noticed that about the other piers and their human form so I definitely can't take credit for adding that. Now that I think about it that would be a really cool thing to do. Unfortunately at this stage of the game my photoshop skills definitely aren't up to that challenge. Thanks so much for sharing that, would have never noticed it otherwise.

brilliant - v atmospheric and the composition is great. it could be really conceptual, something about that figure being in the dark, and looking out towards the bright light, that could contain anything. there's safety in darkness....me like much

Brilliant. The over-exoposed daylight is amazing. The shapes of the struts and pillars and their darkness are great, as is the central position of the person.
