Pocky Game

"Mako! Mako!"A voice called out to the open air on Air Temple Island.

The boys and Asami had been living with her and Tenzin's family for a few months now. Living with them weren't so bad except for the fact she kept seeing the man she loved with someone else. She was fed up with it and when she was walking the streets Korra was told of a game by some odd old lady. She didn't seem like she would fit in the city or this era period but Korra listened and wanted to find someone to try this new game.

That someone was Mako.

The Pocky Game seemed like something Mako wouldn't back down from it. It was a game to see who was braver and who was a puss. It was a game that could bring people together and Korra wanted to use it just for that. She wanted to be close to him and what could an innocent game do?

Korra held the small box in her hands carefully. She didn't want the chocolate covered sticks to break before she got to use them. Her ocean blue eyes held desire in them as she looked for the Firebender. It wasn't long before she saw Mako alone. Shocker that Asami wasn't hanging on him. She froze when his amber eyes looked up to greet her.

"Korra. Why you yelling my name?"He asked letting a fire exhaust. By look of things he had been training since all he had on was his undershirt and pants.

"Um.. Y-Yeah wanna play a game"She asked blushing looking away as she finally said her question.

"What kind of game?"He asked raising an eyebrow as he wiped sweat off his face.

"A new game I learned. It is called Pocky"Korra spoke walking up to him and showing him the box with delicious sticks in them.

"It is a game of wits I might say a Challenge to see who is the bravest"She smirked mischievously.

Mako didn't notice Korra's face as he took the box. Looking it over he took a stick out and bit into it. "Mmm"was the small noise that came from him. It was something he hadn't quite taste before and it was good.

"What are the rules?"He asked under half lidded eyes watching her carefully.

"Well we take a single stick and place each end in our mouths. We have to see how close we can get to the middle without breaking contact. The catch is we will get close and see who wusses out first"Korra explained with a tiny smile. She had a feeling that Mako wouldn't back down from a challenge.

"I don't want to play"He said flatly hiding his emotions from his face.

"Why not! Are you scared?"She instantly shouted. What she said just seemed to have sparked the fire in Mako. He didn't like to be called scared. He didn't like to be considered weak.

"I'm not scared! Lets get this thing started"Mako said sitting down as Korra sat across from him smirking. She was one that knew just where to press his buttons. She set the box down and took out a long stick. placing the end gently in her mouth she looked at Mako who blushed. Thoughts seemed to already be rushing through his head as he just looked at her with the food in her mouth.

Shaking out of it he set the other end in his mouth as the glared at each other. They didn't realize what was to come since all they wanted was to prove who was better.

"Let's begin"Korra said taking the first bite.

Mako took the next. The game went on for what seemed like forever. On either side they were taking the tiniest of bites. The slower time they took the faster their hearts beat. They only had one bite left and Korra was going to withdrawl. Something had hit her.

Guilt.

She shouldn't be doing this to him when he was with Asami. She knew the woman went through a lot and Korra was just giving into her desire without thinking. As she was about to let go her eyes went wide.

Mako had closed the distance kissing her.

She was blushing as her eyes fluttered close and she kissed him back. Everything that had been running through her mind was gone. All she could think of her and Mako. Mako had pushed her back into the ground without breaking the kiss. They needed to breath but neither wanted to stop. Korra was the first to break the connection panting. Meeting his eyes all she saw was love.

"What about Asami?"She asked quietly afraid of what he was going to say.

"Nothing"He said capturing her lips. Mako thought he loved the non-bender but this little game Korra pulled proved to him that it wasn't love he felt for Asami. He broke the kiss smiling.

"I win"He chuckled as Korra pulled him into another kiss.
