Description
The Battle of Austin was a martian air-and-land assault on Terra performed as a retaliation for the collapsed Operation Thunderbird, through which the Terran Confederation attempted to fight back against the uprise on Mars by taking over Phobos. The battle started with a midnight bomb run and went on through the entire night, lighting up the sky of the city of Austin with the bright trails of missiles, lasers and combat aircraft jets. Enormous martian battle airships bombed the city below, creating columns of smoke and dust that covered the entire sky, while Terran interceptors struggled to fight back against the Martian strike forces. In the end, the Earth drove the martian army into retreat. Amidst the chaos of the conflict, the Terran Confederation had finished the construction of their first battle-class warship, the B.S.E. Marie Curie; equipped with powerful laser weapons that mimicked Martian technology, this vessel named after the renowned physicist could tear down their airships in mere seconds.
