Hah!Behold the epic ponies of epicness!
I've always thought Gusty, a G1 unicorn, would've made a better stallion than a mare. I've seen another artist draw him / her as a Pegasus pony which is a cool idea, but... nah, for me HE is always going to be a unicorn.
Still, it might be cool to see him as an alicorn, eh?
Anyway, the moment I considered this pic I HAD to do my main man, Dream Catcher. He is an experienced warrior and the master at dueling. He's a teacher, too, and quite powerful. There's other powerful duelers but somehow Dream Catcher stands out to me, and obviously to young upstart Gusty, too. The young stallion is rash but not unkind. He wants to prove himself but is a bit overconfident and impatient, even a little fast-mouthed. He'll learn though.
Eventually.
Anyway, to set the mood - and to cut back on doing the background - I put them in a storm setting. It - hopefully - made it more dramatic and also made it easier to scan. I think this image came through MUCH better than the other two.
