Thanks , what do you usually have your shutter at? (I've had my camera for a while but am just now starting to want to take quality pictures and not just use the pre-programmed settings, so sorry if I sound like a n00b)

No problem It depends on the lighting. Shutter speed is probably the setting i change the most. All settings kind of work in conjunction with each other. If you put your iso up, you'll have to adjust your shutter speed and aperture as well. One doesn't ever really stay the same.

ugh, I know.. and I did better in all the over fences, the girl just got her points from the hack (I dont get any points in the hack, ever, because my horse doesn't move like a hunter). >.<

Im the other way around My horse usually places in the hack but he jumps a little flat or can cop an attitude in the over fences (we're only in 2'6" we were supposed to be in 3ft but I got kicked and couldn't ride for 3 months) So I tend to lose the point in the o/f

haha yeah, I'm super consistent over fences so I keep my points up but in both weeks I
made a mistake in 1 course so I lost my lead you have no forgiveness when you dont do well in the hack. you literally got to be top 2 or 3 in each o/f class!

My horse is young so we're working on that 'hunter consistency', he still thinks its fun to throw in a buck or take of from an impossibly long distance.

Thats no fun I hate it when that happens, I have the reverse, I will win my hack and then screw up an o/f so I have to get 2 or 3 in the rest of the jumping. Which sometimes we can do. Especially in the Green classes, not so lucky in the int. Children's.
