ha ha... =ComeWatchMyArt went to the great lengths of fixing the levels on this. i'm old enough to remember the seventies, and being on da has made me an absolute fiend for low contrast and subdued colors! i use 3200 because i'm frequently in low lighting situations, but i will try the neopan1600.

i see what you mean - and low contrast looks awkward on screens i think (needs printing which is the nice thing about b/w photography). however, neopan1600 is definitely not a low contrast film.

i know, everybody says it who's shooting film because it declares how much you are into "it" but yes, judging a frame taken on film through a scan is retarded. there are so many more features that seperate film from a digital capture that cannot be shown through a screen. yeesh, now that sounds very film snobbish. yes.

i love film, all kinds of film. i use film in my beloved and lowly cameras, the holgas and the sx-70. in particular, i love time-zero (r.i.p.). film give you a way of patiently exploring how different types will react under different lighting conditions, etc. you learn how you can best use it. my strength is definitely not as a street or straight b/w photographer, but that is the kind of photography i probably most admire. i don't thinking loving film is snobbish. i often wonder what is lost from something that looks great on a screen going to print... with digital art.

This is lovely, I like the slight grain to it.

also, being on da makes me crave grain, lower contrast, and subdued colors. i feel i have been saturated with the opposite, pun somewhat intended!

O
ps
ths sort of reminds me of 'Love Story' --don't know why...maybe its the hues......the fade tones.
anything that reminds me of the sweet seventies---is a good thing.

thanks. being on da has made my appetite for subdued colors and low contrast voracious! there are such ramped up colors and high contrast b/w's all around me. i really appreciate your comment!

I just got some 3200 for my holga (I'll have to mumify it in black tape!) what did you use to shoot this?

no, it's okay, but for me it loses too much detail and gets too dark.

you exposed the film as 3200? or lower?

also, i scanned it as grayscale as my scanner does evil magenta things to photos. i think doing grayscale takes something away from it in terms of depth. oh well.
