Have you ever seen a book called Photography's Antiquarian Avant-Garde: The New Wave in Old Processes? If you have a library near you, check it out!

Thanks, my intended direction once I get the new lab/life sorted. Will keep an eye out for that book, (but doubt the local library will have it and the second hand prices are a bit too stiff :- ) Had a look at what was available from the book online, which seemed rather interesting..

Have been studying these methods for a long time... but mainly the technical part,,, know a lot of books etc, in that area, but seldom one see the methods really utilised .. often a bit laborious

not entierly my fav site [link] but a lot of simplified info, good overview, you may already be avare of it.

I love working with LF, the way it force you to think while photographing. But messy to drag around.. particularily on the subway in Tokyo want one of these [link] (since I am in the link mood :- ), have an old linhof in cast iron - heavy. If possible I will try to get an 8x10 and park it on the cottage, go take picts, bring negs back & work on them... lots of plans

Not sure if you need to learn anything though, unless it is as a part of extended creativity

The diana or holga?

I really need to get mine out of the closet

it is actually a manipulation using the edges of a brownie camera. i took a digital photo of the viewfinder looking out. then i put it around a manipulated image from a simple point and shoot camera. i do adore my holga and diana. i probably like the holga more.

That's very clever, I've a yashica 120 that I'd very much like to use my digi/cams with--except it has those bloody grids on the top view finder glass. Currently I'm keeping my eyes open for a 120 w./the lines. Speaking of Holgas, have you see the agfa isoly1? the Holga was based on that agfa design, I'll probably always use both formats...although film will always be my favorite.

i haven't seen that agfa camera. i saw others using the technique of photographing through the viewfinder, so not all that clever of me. i think they call it ttv.

as you can see from how long it took me to answer this comment, i don't really have time for collaborations and such. sorry, would love to otherwise. mother of four, full-time network engineer/systems administrator, passionate photographer... the time ends there.

very holgaesque feel to this image. I love the quality and the overall feel. even though you placed it under dark, to me there is a more nostalgic quality. It makes me feel as though there is something coming out of the darkness into the light. just my 2 cents....but that can't buy much
