Description
Rocksboro Park has numerous sandstone slabs jutting up from out of the ground, caused by the uplift of the Rocky Mountains millions of years ago. The slabs allow plants like Colorado's columbine flowers, which are sensitive to sunlight, to grow. These slabs of sandstone are a part of the Fountain Formation, a lengthy formation that also includes the sandstone that make up the walls of Red Rocks Amphitheater as well as the famous Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
Camera used is my Nikon D5000 with the DX 50-200 mm lens.
