I like the minimalist treatment of the wood grain, but the bondo realy bothers me. i think if the gaps where left and the wood set and layered as if there where no gaps to allow void, that might also give more intrest in the space it takes up having those voids, kind of a better understanding of its volume.
it reminds me alot of Norwegean and Sweedish wood sculpture.
i think the lacker was a realy good idea as apposed to bare wood, the color of lacker was good too.

Very nice. I love wood. lol. This actually reminds me of something that I had to make last year for 3-D design class.

I'd love to have my house built from similar sculptures.

I can't believe how few people have commented on this! I love the way you have the grains going in different directions in each layer. Lovely work!

Downright classy. How large is it, if you don't mind me asking?

The surface is most interesting. I see it as a sort of a 3-dimensional graphic. I'd love to see, what's on the other side...

Wow, great job. All I can think about is how heavy it must be. Unless you cut out the middle of each board. Does the top slope down at the back or is the piece triangular? I can't tell from the photo. Also, if your ever looking to make some quick cash. Take that process and make furniture. Nothing to elaborate. But I can certainly see people wanting that in their homes. It's just so hard to sell sculpture... of course, artists that we are, we're not motivated by money. I'm just thinking, ya gotta eat.

It reminds of the old wooden seats from school. Like ya just found a whole bunch at a junk yard and stacked/ sanded and laquered. Very fascinating, I love all the flaws in the wood.

I'm not sure if you left this untitled for a reason, but one popped into my head as I looked at it..."Strata". It reminds me of the cross-sections of the different layers that form our Earth...the ones you see in the science books. This is really a beautiful piece of work.

It's amazing how much the wood grain pops. What sort of wood is it? What are the pink parts? Is the back different or is it the same all the way around?

That's very interesting! The way I see it, reminds me of a Rubik Cube, you have to turn the pieces around to complete the puzzle!
