Have to agree with you on that one, it would be good.
Over here, real old barns are normally listed buildings, therefore cannot be pulled down etc.

We used to have more places like that around here, but it seems like every bit of land is getting developed for subdivisions and strip malls. Boy I love progress (sarcasm). I need to get out and do some exploring myself.

I know what you mean, around here it is the same way.. not so much into the country around the town, but the wonderful old buildings inside town are slowly being demolished to make way for yet another unneeded building.. it's just plain sad

Very sad. Don't know if you are fan of old bridges or not, but this site helped me find some pretty amazing places I didnt even know about!
It's called Bridgehunter and it's a database of historic or notable bridges in the United States of America.
