Description Ok, so some of you already know that we had a major storm roll into my area tonight.. at one point there were 8 tornadoes on the ground at once! And not spread over a large area, but rather all in one weather spotter's view!! Anyways, I wanted to get a bunch of photos, but by the time the storm was close to us, it was too dark to see squat.. I got one photo that semi turned out before having to get inside.. I wish I would have had my tripod out and took the time to get a better shot, but there just wasn't time.. Soooo this is what I got.. This is a photo looking off into the direction of the storm.. You can kind of see the difference of the lower clouds that were moving in if you look really close.. I would have love to stay out there but my parents showed up right as I got this shot and my Dad started to chew my ass about getting inside.. So this is what I got.. Oh and I am trying to find the link to the video I just saw of the biggest tornado that hit here, it sounds like it didn't hurt anyone, but did wipe out a few farms, a cell tower, and a bunch of transformers.. there are 8 towns without power right now.. thank goodness, not mine..

Thanks, thankfully no one was injured.. surprising though because they just released that it was an EF4 tornado, that is a big one!

I am so glad to hear that no one was hurt. How extensive is the property damage though?

yea we are getting pretty well hammered up here.. I guess the discovery channel storm chasers were up here and didn't understand just how wet the roads were up here and ended up getting their vehicle stuck! It was that heavy one they want to actually drive into a tornado! So they had one heck of a time getting it unstuck and rumor has it that they are facing a $15,000+ fine for going around a road closed sign!!

Whoops! The roads closed for a reason...

I know first hand how bad the roads are out here, I still won't go down them after getting stuck a few weeks back..

My sisters reply about the truck, "They got what they deserved the arrogant shitheads. No sympathy from me, it's idiots like these that I put my life on the line for." She's retired S&R btw.

LMAO!! Yea they went around to two different farmers near where they got stuck and basically they said the same thing to them!

LMAO!! Yeah, no sympathy... proper documentary teams don't ignore signs, they work with the local authority. At least in my little world where common sense rules.

Are you lined up to get anymore storms soon?

Yea, I watch the series they were filming for all the time, and know which one it was that got stuck, and frankly he is an arrogant ass, gets great footage but is still an ass.. and it really doesn't surprise me that he did it.. I think we are into a dry heat the next week or so, so hopefully things will dry up, although I wouldn't mind a nice lightning storm or two

Here's to hoping things really do dry up for you and that you have a good rest of the week.

We were hit by tornadoes about 3 miles from the house the other day. My most recent deviation, I was driving him INTO that shit.

Glad you made it alright. lol

I've always wanted to get a shot of a tornado, but ya know, if you can't do it reasonably safely, it's just better not to have one in your portfolio. (Sigh... It's the dad coming out in me.)

Lol, I know what you mean! I have loved tornadoes, or rather weather in general, ever since I was little.. I always want to go out and get "the shot", but I don't know enough about reading the skies to do it safely
