In ancient Greek , the moon is feminine ( η σελήνη - i selini) , but in modern Greek , we also say (το φεγγάρι - to feggari) , which is neutral !! I don't know how a feminine name became neutral , but what i know is that "feggari" comes from the verb "φέγγω - feggo" , which in turn was created by the word "φως - fos" , which is "light" for Greek in general! I know, the whole linguistic part is tiring , but i find it interesting how people name the moon in different languages ! Even in the English language, the moon is something that lu-minates in the dark. Or that's how i was thinking , when i started learning the Latin language , that i did way after i finished learning English😜😜🤣
