And thank you again.
This is one of my favorite rainbow pics. Please feel free to use any of my photos wherever you need to.(Except for the ones of the little kids- I would have to get permission from their parents)

Understood about permission of people in particular. People you know.
And you're welcome again. It's one of my favorites, too.

Thank you.
Its a Nikon CoolPix100.
Not all that expensive as cameras go and fairly easy to learn how to use. I only got into photography about 3 years ago.

Wow. I wonder what's on the deck of the house back there. (My. I used the word "wow." Dang.) Centering the tree really makes this shot of very close rainbow work even better than others I've seen. Thank you.

Eremitik In reply to xlntwtch [2011-07-11 11:15:10 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

The centering of the tree was unintentional. Had it been Jake taking the pic, Im sure he would have done it on purpose. Glad you liked it.

My camera is lazy these days. I took it camping over the weekend and only took about a dozen picts. I havent even got many soccer pics yet.

Lazy cameras are very, very tricky! Perhaps Hobbes can play with it for a while.

Perhaps. I know he would be careful with it at least!

Wooooo.

I practically lose it when sarcasm is used around me.

(Old memories of Dad [now gone] sometimes using it like a laser-beam on a rifle.)

I love sarcasm...employ it often. Im surprised at how many people dont get it.
Im sorry that you lose it. I will try to remember that fact.

xlntwtch In reply to Eremitik [2011-07-16 11:25:10 +0000 UTC]

I'm admittedly overly sensitive to it.
I can pick up sarcasm miles away; over the phone; from strangers...
...and who knows?
I might unconsciously use it myself!
Sometimes I feel a person never really knows themselves completely.
Y'know?

It's so vibrant, I almost can't believe this.
Did you edit this picture or is it really that booming?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eremitik In reply to Poisonedkitty [2010-07-25 11:25:53 +0000 UTC]

I balanced the contrast a bit because the original had a little yellow fuzziness to it from the rainbow - almost a haze. But that is it.

It was amazing. Everyone at the game stopped to look at this. My only regret was that the other end was into a tree line and that I wasnt high enough to get the whole thing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eremitik In reply to MononsRor [2010-07-07 09:21:45 +0000 UTC]

The photo I posted I had to edit. The camera captured a yellowish aura that the rainbow gave off. I basically just balanced the contrast of the picture and darkened it a bit to match the way I remembered it.
It was amazing.

The photo is looking southeast. The northerly end of the rainbow is between the house up on the hill and tree line that is at the bottom of the picture. That lower tree line is maybe 200 meters away, and leads into the hill that the house sits on.
At most, the end of the rainbow was maybe a kilometer away.

The southerly end of the rainbow was the one blocked by the trees that line field. I think that I posted some overall pictures that show part of those trees.
