There were not many nuts here this year. I hope our squirrels will find enough to eat. There were lots of "nuts" fallen from the copper beech though.

My sister in law today has brought me a large bag hazelnuts.

Cute! Our squirrels don't have tufted ears. A good red is seldom seen either. I associate these guys very strongly with Germany.

the photo is from a holiday. The squirrels here in town are very shy. Every now and again I see one, but I still have no shot.

Here in France we have red squirrels like this, as in England. (England also has many grey ones.)
Most of them are bright but we often see darker ones too.
They are all lovely.
