I'm inclined to agree, although I'd like my photography to be a window - show new things and images instead of the ones that people (should) already know.

Gorgeous statue mate, but after watching it for a couple of seconds it began to really impress me in a weird way. I think it's the eyes... I don't know.

It's almost more ghostly than statuary, in a way. I agree, for reasons I can't entirely pin down I'm having trouble looking away from this. Maybe it's the imperfections in the stone, that make the formal subject look like she's had a messy meal of jam and bread? Or maybe the contradiction implicit in a flowing, gracefully draped dress made of stone? It has a definite creepiness to it.

Yes, I think I know what you mean. It's a very majestic statue, but there's something disturbing about it too, that crept in without any intention of the sculptor.
