It's been awhile since I've posted any progress on No.7; I've been a garage hermit lately. Slowly, carefully, and affectionately I'm machining and carving my way toward an eventual finish. I'm not going to project when that will be; I'm making it a point not to think about deadlines anymore, only to keep going.

This is one of the five wheels that make up the going and weight train. All of these gears are cut, and all but one is carved to completion. This particular gear is part of the weight train, which means it's closer to the power source, and must be very thick. This one was cut from 3/8 brass plate.

The top of the lantern pinion is not yet finished.
