She waits patiently as I casually drive myself a little crazier.Anxiously idle I’ll continue to waste her time drawing no conclusions.
I know it frustrates her,
but I’ll ask her to stay as a lack of anything better to do.
When morning comes,
she’ll see I’m frantic in my own mind,
tick-tocking the hours away as a cynic considers.
So I’ll try to be honest when I tell her these things never have a way of working themselves out.
Only, she simply smiles when I say I’m sorry,
With tears in her eyes she grabs my hand when I say I don’t understand.
I know she wants leave when I retreat to that self-loathing little place in my head.
Aging will be a slow decay and we came this far together.
She says she’s beginning to see the cracks in the surface.
I kind of believe her,
but she stays strong me for me.
And in the end she said it’s all worth reaching for.

I don't really have anything like that. The way I work is by choosing two colors I want for my painting and I blend them together using grays to give them a kind of harmony so neither color dominates the other. I then base my lighting off of the direction its coming from and think in shapes and dimension when adding shadows and light. A good way to practice is by shining a light on an object and drawing it with the way the lighting falls on it. Hope that kind of helps.

Damn, thats awesome. I love the idea behind the picture, and the composition. But most of all - i love the colors. That blend of blues and oranges is certainly popular among artists, but you managed to show WHY exactly is it so popular. Great job.
