Well, from what I can tell, the sand's supposed to be flowing in from behind them...but there's no depth to it. It looks like the sand's pooling in front of them and more like it's just sitting there under them. It doesn't really feel like the sand's flow either; it just looks there. And what's that thing in the lower right?

I can't describe it very well, it just looks...odd.

it is a sand monster rising from a pit, so it is in front and below them.
