I love the fact you used a dictionary page, it makes a really intriguing background and I love how sketchy and the simple colour scheme.

i must ask, when you start doodling. do you think at all at composition and color?
i mean like the size of what youre doodling at the moment, and the colour play of the overall image?

erkonom In reply to Zweetchuck [2006-01-27 19:23:11 +0000 UTC]

I'm definitely always thinking of overall composition, but I work rapidly. so I just keep building the layers instinctively...
and with my drawings, colors are always added at the end to accent and seperate...

but also, I have thousands of drawings that went nowhere, and some just click.

hope that answered some of your questions, I'm horrible at explaining myself, but I don't mind trying :-] ...don't hesitate to ask more...

cheeers,erik

no, i understand completly. ive got like 200 papers lying on my TV
and yet, not even a 10th of all that has seen the light of day (on DA).
but yeah i did a verry quick doodle of two seperate legs a while ago, and i throwed it away.
and i found it a week ago in my trashcan (dont empty it to often ) and i saw that it was accually the best legs ive drawn ever so naturall and flowy ^^

Really like the loose, sketchy look. Makes the drawing really active. Like the use of the white as well. nice.
