I was thinking like Haku's ice mirrors but actual mirrors surround him in a dome like Tosens Bankai and he can move in and out of them at will. Also having the ability to shoot glass-like blades from the sword.

That's a really good Bankai, but if it's ok with you I would like to add it to someone else, i haven't drawn her yet but her Shikai is power of mirrors and reflections. Thing is Raiel's weapon's big factor is breaking down objects that are made of riatsu and absorbing the energy for the user, so a bankai for that must be something within that range i guess.

But i really like ur idea and if you got something else in mind, feel free to let me know

hahaha awsome, as they say great minds think alike , tbh the idea was a similar idea to ichigo's bankai, since the blade feeds the weilder the blade itself has to need to waste energy into tranforming into something big and usless, all the energy to transform the blad was used to enhances the strength of the blade and the speed of its draining ability, the trick to it however is that the blade is slightly longer meaning to the average foe they won't notice the change in reach.

actually just no offensive magic, binding and phisical attacks work perfectly , and some offensive magic if the blade isn't in the way

If he knows that he will harness his magic skills and fighting style to match that sword ability, learning spells to block the ones that the blade can't defend, developing a fighting style that leads the opponent to believe that it's useless to attack phisically... He could easily be turned into the sort of vilain that manipulates everybody, or the side hero that shows the main hero that there's more into a fight than just cut and smash.

yeah, he would make a great villain, but fortunatly he's not, but in the official story he's a gd side character who helps teaches the main character how to use his abilities by thinking outside the box, despite knowing that no one else has ever come across a similar power he's still able to figure it out, he's the calm logical type. also in the official story he avoides using his blade, even though it weilds great power it is destroying him from within gradually.
