Description This particular shot is not mine. I downloaded it from
Multimedia-Stock and it belongs to YouTouke . My thanks go to her for the lovely stock

All the digital editing, cropping and triptyching is mine.

EDIT: Following the suggestion of *encorine and `FractalEyes I changed the background colour from grey to greyish sepia. Now I like it better this way too.

I don't know what triptyching is, care to give a brief overview?

Even if you did not take the stock, this picture captured my attention before I had even enlarged the thumbnail. I can't really explain why, and I like that I can't explain.

I'm pretty sure I invented the verb "triptyching". It comes from triptych, that essentially means "three panels". You can make diptychs (two panels), triptychs, quadriptychs or polyptychs (many panels). They can be actual panels, painted by traditional means, or panels composed by different photographs. You can see lots of them in the galleries of #let-it-di

Maybe what caught your attention -apart from the vivid colours- is the visual rhythm established by the repeated flower pattern. To achieve that, I divided the original in three and changed the order. My left "panel" is actually the far right portion of the original photograph. My centre "panel" is on the far left of the original, etc. I was aiming for a more dynamic composition.

And thank you very much!

I see from *encorine 's comment and your response that you've already tried changing the background color. I don't know what colors you've tried but maybe a lighter shade of the green or the poppy colors because the grey isn't quite working for me either. The photos are excellent as is the triptych layout.

I'll give it another try then. I felt the background needed to be "cold", in contrast with the very warm tones of the image, and grey looks just fine to me. But it would be silly to overlook other viewers' impressions. I'll let you know and thanks!

i love this image, but if this grey background turned to the colour of the clouds, i'd be crazy of it..
