Background: Jess grew up in the quarters across from Ben’s, who was nearly insane since birth. Jessie was violent as a child, but that was more rebellion to being kept in a confined space than anything else. The scientists found that she could calm him somehow, and kept them in close quarters except during testing, during which he almost killed five scientists. When she turned fifteen, she snuck out of the facility with Ben and got a dingy apartment (or, rather, the basement). She is out most of the day working, and, when at home, caring for Ben, even if that means she is hurt in the process. She gets very little sleep, but is genuinely happy most of the time. Because of her experiences in the experimental facility, she knows how short life is and how easily it ends, which gives her a very mature take on life. Her relationship with Ben fluctuates between that of a mother, warden, and lover.
Likes vs dislikes: Loves vegetables and fruit, and recoils at the smell of meat or alcohol. She likes most music and exercise, but afraid of heights. She likes quiet and peace, and extremely claustrophobic.
Strengths vs weaknesses: Self-sacrificing, but to the point where it is self-harming, and in denial when someone comments on her poor health. A high endurance level, but refuses all help.
