Fictional Soviet heavy tank, Lieutenant Yuri Mashina - Breakthrough 1.

A fictional breakthrough heavy tank, supposed to be able to pierce through the Mannerheim Line in Finland in 1939-1940. It features a 122 mm M-30 howitzer in the hull, a 45 mm 20K gun in a turret with limited rotation, a total of 5 7,62 mm DT machine guns, a 12,7 mm DShK heavy machine gun for anti-aircraft purposes (though it can aim below and actually shoot at enemy infantry and lightly armored vehicles) in a 360° rotation turret as well as a 360° rotation pressure-powered altered 82 mm M-37 infantry mortar (altered to allow the mortar to be loaded from the inside, and the range depends no more of the mortar's angle but of the pressure instead).

The suspension mostly consisted of components from the T-35 multi-turreted heavy tank. Yuri Mashina himself is one of the few, among Soviet ranks, to still believe in the effectiveness of multi-turreted tanks. The armour is supposed to reach 75 mm at the front and sides, and 50 mm at the rear, in order to allow this heavy monster to crawl through enemy defenses at a top speed of 29 km/h on hard terrain, with about 12 crew members inside to control and fire the beast.

Although the design itself was approved to have one prototype built and tested on the frontline alongside the SMK, T-100, KV-1 and KV-2 tanks during the battle of Summa, another engineer, friend and rival of Yuri, pointed out the fact that such a huge tank lacked a personal carrier ability to help the infantry exploit the breakthrough the tank is supposed to provide.

As a result, Yuri worked to further improve his design.
