You're getting lots and lots of comments! 8D I...I'm so proud of you, I'm no longer the first to comment your stufffff~~~~~ ;A;
MY LITTLE ESC, ALL GROWN UP--
:'D
xD Cream. ...pfft.
And psh you, you've already used that smiley! D':<
Anyway, the roses turned out really lovely and gorgeous and pretty. I very much like how the dead rose turned out, the color just barely on the tips of the petals. ^__^
I am not as fond, though, of the purple shadows on the red rose? Ha ha? :'D Sometimes seems to dull it down? D': Mushy?
I don't know, I think I'm being delusionalll. xD Plus art teachers are all like "use opposite colors for shadows 8D," right? So--
What order did you do this piece? :3 Like, ref pic, pencil sketch, charcoal, then chalk? Or~? ^____^ Because I really like the charcoal "glow," it's very striking. 8D
Then again, I'm very partial to charcoal in general, so. xD
Is pastel chalks like charcoal but colored? owo;

But your comments will always be one of the comments that I look foward to the most (and the longest XDDD; )
XDDD
BAH. I can't remember which smileys I've used and not used... >3>
Thanks very much :3
B-but but I liiiiike the purple shadows .______.
A-and if I use the opposite color, wouldn't it still be mushy 'cause it'd turn brown? D:
Order, order: ref pic, pencil sketch, chalk flower, charcoal dead flower, and finally charcoal background :3
I'm also very partial to charcoal : DD
And chalks are softer than charcoal so they blend more easily~~
And they're also more messy >w>;;;

:'D B-b-b-b-b-b'aaaaawwwww
xD Yes, they will indeed by very long--
owo How do you even find smilies to use?
Uh, maybe, like, complementary colors, then? Is that what it's called? D:
Hahaha, but if you like it, then it's fiiiine. xD
Um, I think maybe it's because the red rose has a darker outline, but then the inside doesn't really have it as dark? Or maybe the shadows aren't dark enough for me eyes?
I don't know. xD
owo You did the dead flower completely with charcoal? Even those sharp sharp lines?
..... :'D
xD How did you keep the background charcoal from smudging everywhere you didn't want? Like on your finished stuff?
Oooh, nice. : D
xD;;; I can imagine ESC, walking out of art class, oblivious to the various colors smeared all over her face.

^^
It's a S.E.C.R.E.T. <3
But complementary colors are opposite colors, are they not? D:
Although the shadows do probably need to be darker now that I look at it on the computer...
OR OR OR maybe it's the lighting? owo
Yes. I shall blame it on the bad lighting >w>
Yes ^^
The charcoal pencils were especially useful for those sharp lines : D
Very carefully : DD
Haha- well actually, charcoal doesn't smear that easily, so it wasn't too troublesome. On the other hand, chalk smeared really easily, so it was a nightmare trying to keep the red out of the background. =.=
Goodness-- That wouldn't be good considering I have art 1st period, so I'd be walking around the entire day with a multi-colored face XDD

DDDDD': S-so mean-- And even after I introduced you to that awesome time-wasting You Are Lucky flashgame!
.....I don't know? DDDDD:
xDDD;
:'D W-wow, I did now know charcoal pencils existed--
xD That's true; now I remember how I stared, dismayed, at the non-moving charcoal smudges--
owo How did you keep the red out of the background~~~?
xDDD Hohohoho.
You have art first? 8D Great warm-up-the-day class, huh?
Though being sleepy while doing AP pieces might not be a good thing--
xD

Well if I ever come across another adorably cute time-wasting game on the internet, I shall introduce it to you and then we shall be even : D
Really?
You should try them-- charcoal pencils are amazing >w<
Um... I didn't XD
ESC was too lazy to stay in the lines and blew chalk residue everywhere on her paper : D
Most of the red powdery chalk was erasable, and I made sure that the few areas that didn't erase very well was covered with extra layers of charcoal.
I like having art first period though because it doesn't require as much thinking as my other classes -w-

D':< You had better!
xDDD;; Ahhhhh, don't know when that will happen. Maybe next year when I take (not AP owo) Senior Studio? 8D
....well, you can't really tell. xD; Except this one place on the bottomish right, but it's not very noticeable.
Chalk is erasable? owo;;;
xDDD;;; Hahahah yes--

I did introduce you to Mahjong Titans, did I not? : D
Senior studio? owo
Indeed. Chalk is erasable. Kneaded erasers are very useful for erasing chalk... and a lot of other stuff~~ :3

: D Yes, but it only entertained me for two days! Because now I am too lazy to do that--
owo Yes. Apparently it's like AP except, like, not.
.............
yes.
Kneaded erasers look fun. 8D
No, no, it's really not. DDDDD':

That. Is. Absolutely. BEAUTIFUL.
<3
Seriously, I am totally mesmerized. xD And jealous. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to draw a decent rose.
I like how the rose on top is so vibrant and lively and red, and how the lower rose is desolate, cracked and pale as death. It's beautiful. :3
