Ok - here's some major irony for you - I came on here looking for a piece of art for a project in English that has to be representative of Macbeth! Not only do I think your piece is excellent on its own, English project or not, but I was wondering if I could use this. I'd give you credit for it, of course, and I already know your inspiration, which is all I need for the presentation. Would you be ok with that?

This is a great, though-provoking piece of art. I have indeed read Shakespeare and that was actually what first popped in to my head when I saw this... before having read your comments. That scene is my favourite in the whole play... 'Out, damn spot. Out, I say!'.
This is definitely favourite worthy.

I am obsessive/compulsive about cleanliness so this photo appealed to me greatly. I constantly wash my hands to rid myself of toxins, germs. To think that I can never wash my hands clean of guilt evokes a certain level of fear in me and makes me wonder why do I fear not being clean.
I adore this piece. Btw, did you get the bottle from the GAP body lotion?
Faving this.

Thank you very much. It is exactly the reaction I was hoping to get when creating this. Once the guilt is there, it can not be rid of! And thank you for the fave, much appreciated!
As for the bottle, I'm not sure where it's from. I borrowed it from a friend.

one more thing... perhaps letting a little blood drip onto the surface below the hand would balance the image perfectly...

I should have mentioned that it was reading your descriptions that prompted me to buy a softbox and slave flash. Many times you say things like "taken with the use of only one softbox". The lighting in your photos turns out so well that I just had to get one! (I didn't even know what it was, I had to google it! hehe).
That is all the lighting I used on this (softbox and the slave flash) and it was all directed at the background. I wish I had one more light above now, when I look at the photo again.

Thanks for the comment, very much appreciated!
Funny you should mention letting blood drip on the surface (table). I had a few to choose from and I was torn between this one and one that did have blood on the table. I'll have to look at that one again, perhaps post a v2.0, hehe!
Thanks again!

hey this is very cool. nice setup, nice composition, and lots of material for interpretation. the sterility of the elements involved really contrasts with the organic warmth of the blood. good work!
