I don't think this is too much of a soft focus at all. In fact, the detail in that one flower bud is what really makes this image, along with the sepia-like tones. Really well composed shot - great work!

thanks mate for the excellent comment...although i did'nt really planned this but after i saw picture in my computer... i saw a sort of freudian sexual symbolism in the shot...perhaps dan brown's story on dual sexuality concept somehow affected me.... cheers

very beautiful. my father had a similar plant (monstera) which has edible fruits. but many are poisonous too.
botanical note: this is not onla one flower, but inflorescence composed of many male, female and sterile flowers. some of them have fly traps, so when an insect enters the leaf that is around the flowers, it closes for some time until all the flowers are polinated...then the fly (or other insect) goes to another inflorescence to do the same
