Character:
Rakesh is a high-spirited stallion with lots of energy. You can ride him for two hours and he will still run, jump and buck around as soon he's released on the paddock. It seems as if he never gets tired
It's surprising he never loses self-control when someone sits on his back. He is very careful with his rider although he's very sensitive to rider's aids and his reaction can be huge if the aid is too powerful (that means, he will speed up within milliseconds if the pressur of the legs is too big, and he'll do a full braking when the halt is too thight.
Rakesh is strong-nerved and sure-footed, definitely not one of those hyper horses that are startled by every noise or movement in the woods.
He concentrates well on his job and doesn't have much stallion behaviour.
He is a faithful companion and willing to do almost anything for his owner.

Story:
Before Joana came to Elbdale, she lived in India for six months while she was on an expedition with some other biologists. Their focus was on the fauna of the Kathiarbar-Gir dry forest, mainly its big cats (bengal tiger, inidan wolf and leopard) and their behavior.
This ecoregion is part of the Kathiawari peninsula (also called Saurashtra) that belongs to the state Gujarat next to Rajastan.

On one of her tours she did in her freetime, she came to Rajastan and discovered the Kathiawari and Marwari breeds.

Joana was blown away by the beauty of those horses and fell in love with their noble character. Although she didn't have much experience with horses so far, she bought the young stallion Rakesh from a small stud and brought him to their head quarter.

Rakesh already had a basic training so she took him to the trace research expeditions (of course not when they went out for observations ), it was faster than searching by foot in areas no cars could be used.

When Joanas time at the science station was over, and she got the job offer to work at Elbdale, she wanted to take Rakesh to Germany, but unforunately it was not allowed to export any Marwaris or Kathiawaris. Luckily David knew some excellent smugglers and contacted RPS to help Joana with her problem.
In the end, Vidar from RPS traveled to India and was able to smuggle the horse out of the country.
I have no idea how he did that :shrugs:
