second submission for the fractal chats compo to reiterate from the first one, the compo is a "skill upgrade" competition where we show off how we've improved over the years.

Back in the day, lindelokse put out the "3D Blooms" tutorial that took the fractal community by a storm. I think this is still the base technique that everyone who makes these plastic flowers follows. www.deviantart.com/lindelokse/…

I of course followed suit. I still make flowers following this basic method But I like to think I've very much improved over the years. See here: www.deviantart.com/esherymack/…

This one also has a healthy amount of inspiration from C-91 , who still makes some of the best blooms I lay my eyes on

this of course took eons to render - I've been over the bug in Apo's multithreaded rendering options a bunch of times now. 2 days, 21 hours, some handful of minutes
