The great war is since long over. Very few still remember it. But the destruction to the surface of the earth linger as if it happened yesterday. The weather changed. Everything changed. Most of us live underground, trying to get by as best we can. But we cannot stay below for long, like whales, we rise to the surface to gather oxygen, food and supplies. Everything has to be processed due to the contamination. But scavenging the surface is no easy task. What actually stopped the war wasn't the thermonuclear blasts. It was the combat droids. True killing machines. They work independently, once deployed they need not be controlled. Their self-learning AI systems made them more intelligent than what was thought possible. The makers of these robotic monsters are long gone, but their products, offsprings if you will, walk the surface like the war was still ravaging the earth.
