POOH BEAR WINNIE THE POOOOOOH BEAAAAR.
-sweet chime chords-

Yep! The Tigger Movie is the one I remember the most, it had some legit sad moments in it.
And I definitely remember one about a Heffalump, which is some kind of elephant?

Pretty sure it's Dr. Seuss. Funnily enough, I have never read a single one of his books LOL
I was introduced to his works through that godawful Cat in the Hat movie, HOLY SHIT.

It was bad.

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-20 07:02:00 +0000 UTC]

Nah, I was in the Enid Blyton crowd. And then I found out she was a horrible person, so I fully devoted myself to Roald Dahl
Still my favourite children books author.

Okay.
Look at this and tell me if it can even be good.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-20 07:09:42 +0000 UTC]

ehhhh im still a fan of hers
how was she a horrible person ?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-20 07:50:40 +0000 UTC]

She cheated on her husband and treated her daughters horrible enough for them to remember it years later.
I'unno, it's a personal thing.

Roald Dahl was a little bit strict on his children but you know what? He was still alright, and he was definitely a child's best friend :3

Btw, did you see that atrocity that is the Cat in the Hat movie?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-21 01:00:23 +0000 UTC]

oh wow..
but shes still a good writer .-.
bleh its terrible when we find out the bad parts of famous ppl we like y.y

lol yes i didΒ
xD
that was so weird
i wonder how long it took to make that lol

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-21 11:48:52 +0000 UTC]

Eh, she wasn't really much of a good writer too. Sometimes she would even just straight up copy a story from another source! I remember a story that was basically the story of Perseus in Greek mythology, just changed names. No changes at all to the story.

At least Roald Dahl told original tales.

I'unno either but man that movie has some creepy vibes to it. Kinda having that sterile hospital feel LOL.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-22 02:10:53 +0000 UTC]

ehh really?Β
i read the faraway tree and the wishing chair
and o'clock tales and some other short story ones
i didnt read her other novelish books :0

roald dahl has good novels
its a bit hard to compare for me coz they had pretty different genres which i read xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-22 04:45:58 +0000 UTC]

I mostly had a lot of her fairytale-esque books as a child, then had a bunch of her typical crime solvin kids books. I still have them out of childhood nostalgia, before I found out LOL.

Heehee, I just really like stuff that empowers children. I dislike it when people treat children as dumb, so Roald Dahl's books were like
Incidentally, ever read this book called The Little Prince?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-22 05:09:38 +0000 UTC]

ahh oAo
i see
im not really sure what books count as empowering children and what would be ones that treat children as dumbΒ

aand nopeΒ
ill go check that out :0

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-22 09:37:43 +0000 UTC]

Well, I guess you can really tell if the story treats children as capable people who understand what's going on, without having to be babied. And since today's children know how to operate technology and curse, I'd say it's high time people realize this more LOL.

Oh man, it's SO GOOD. I have the book, wish I could borrow you lol. I can't believe I didn't grew up with The Little Prince, it would be my jam, along with Roald Dahl.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-22 10:42:27 +0000 UTC]

ohh thats true
i think children now are more technically capable but emotionally less capable ?
but then i dont interact or meet any children so its just the info from online articles and such o-o

Ooh well
I must look for a download of that book >A>
have you read The Little White Horse ? or something
i got it off from the Harry Potters author who said it was her fav book
and i happened to find it on special at the bookstore
its really cute xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-22 10:47:21 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I would say they're emotionally capable for the most part. Nowadays we have movies and shows that touch a lot more topics than the past, so that helps?

Aw, well I hope the online book of The Little Prince has the original illustrations? That's part of what makes the book feel special, and the story too
Oo, what is it about?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-22 10:56:16 +0000 UTC]

hmm, i meant dealing with their own emotions ?Β
or just toughening out thingsΒ
I was reading something about how kids used to have to work at really young ages and they were more prepared on that than kids nowdays who stay in school till like 21 or something and sometimes still not prepared.

oh illustrations
i love old style 20th century illustrations
the semi realistic ones
its about a girl who goes and lives with her uncle and inherits the power or something
she just adapts to the life there with magical forests and enemy-ish people ?
sorry xD
i cant really remember much

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-22 11:25:39 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see. Yeah, I'm definitely in the later category LOL. I'm gonna be 20 and I'm like hurrr I still feel like I'm 15. And apparently I look like one too. THE ASIAN GENES STRIKE BACK.

Yep, yep. The book was written at the end of WW2. Not realistic though, but it actually is understandable according to the story.
The power? LOL that's okay, I'll find it later.
Actually, I've been trying to find this story I read when I was a kid, but apparently it just disappeared from the face of the Earth O__O

Nah, man. I remember reading this story that was about this girl who could make gold by dipping her fingers into water, and sprinkling the water droplets into gold. And then this dumbass prince found out and took her away to basically be his gold making servant. I forgot what happened next. But man, I wanna know what that story was!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-24 02:14:35 +0000 UTC]

that sounds really interesting oAo
was it a modern fiction ?Β
i want to read it too nowΒ

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-24 03:36:11 +0000 UTC]

I don't think so, it reads like a fairytale, but the prince is kinda a douche LOL.

I've been trying to find it back for yeaaaars, but even Google is having a hard time. Mostly because it's really hard to describe the story, girl sprinkling water into gold??? LOL.

Yeah, sorry. I just wanted to spread the pain I felt for this long. That must be a pretty obscure book I read as a kid LOL.

Btw, do you read any webcomics? I am very inspired by this artist named Emily Carroll who takes webcomics to a whole new level. She puts all of them in her own website
AND, she just made a new one OH BOY OH BOY

But then the one with the ONLINE ADS was even worse when I read it twice LOL.

Which is your favourite?

Essuom In reply to Eziara [2015-01-25 12:45:18 +0000 UTC]

that flesh house was completely terrifying omg im gona have nightmares just thinking about it

i dont have a fav coz they all scared me so much Q_Q

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-25 13:14:36 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I was super freaked by the one with the ads, and she purposely made it that way so we would think it's some casual blogspot webcomic but IT'S NOT OMG.

I'unno, I guess I'm sort of a horror fan. Even though I myself am super paranoid LOL.
I really really wanna get her book about comics based on fairytales.... AHH one more into my wishlist
I gotta make my own horror comic soon, maybe I'll get the chance to do so next month, when I'm free.

could you link that over ? o,o

HRAO D:

good luck making it hehehe

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-25 13:46:49 +0000 UTC]

Here it is.

Hmm, I'll try to make it super digital painting-esque, but let's see. I haven't done a comic in a very long time LOL.

did the other girl die ?
its so confusing

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eziara In reply to Essuom [2015-01-26 04:02:16 +0000 UTC]

Well, here's what I thought after reading it twice.

I think that room is haunted, and it makes the woman hallucinate, or at least affects her soul. I think it was her soul that went outside the door, but the real lady is still on the bed. That's why the doorknob and the door was acting up, it was her soul trying to get back in and they get captured, thus the screams.

And she wakes up, having to experience it again.
