Here's a little design-y thing I did as part of a font project. It's not meant to be viewed this large but I figured I might as well post the full sized version. The biggest it really ought to be seen is:[link]
(note that the eyes don't look so spectacularly bad when it's small)
100% adobe photoshop, brush and eraser tool.
Please let me know if you think this is in the wrong category. I can never figure out where stuff like this goes. Please do not use this elsewhere without asking permission.
edit: I had a lot of trouble trying to get this piece balanced and I definitely didn't succeed. Any constructive criticism would be appreciated.

I don't think the eyes look so bad, myself. As for the balancing -- the main thing throwing it off for me is the straight-lined upside-down Y on the cheetah's left side, below their head? It seems awfully straight and narrow, especially in conjunction with the blotch on the other side.

I think you did a great job with it. Doesn't feel unbalanced to me. Because you're eluding to the rest of the body on the bottom left, the large black mark makes sense there.
