If there were Pokemon in Niko’s/The Author’s world, I believe Niko would have a Shinx. I don’t know why.
Honestly, they just seem to go together.

I always thought of Niko having a Volcarona, because SUN, but this is too adorable for me to turn down.

Now that you mention it, Volcarona makes sense. I just thought that Shinx would seem cute because it matches a lot of the coloring (just give it a darker color tone, pfft) and is pretty much a cat (more like a lion cub).
