Description

A beautiful moonlit cityscape night scene featuring my 2 characters Aneksi the Ankhgorian and The Glyph by the extremely talented Rongs1234, a.k.a., Robert Case! I'm a big fan of his signature drawing style, and it's very cool to see his take on my 2 characters here. He did an amazing job on the poses, style, details, colours/fx, and background!

That is a nice style; especially the glowing bits.  What really caught my eye though was the character designs themselves.  Did you design these peeps?

I'll take the Library of Congress up on its recommendation at a later time, but would you mind telling me a bit about who these cats are?  They have a very interesting mix of military, underwater life and super hero.

If you wouldn't mind answering one more question, how do you feel about Facebook as a site to share your creations?  I've been posting some of my characters there, but I REALLY don't like how the website works and I'm cautious about Facebook's treatment of copyrights, etc.  Have you had any problems with Facebook or have any suggestions for how a n00b should approach the site?

Yes, I am the designer of these 2 characters. I created The Glyph in the mid-90's, and he started out as a random doodle of mine at school. I've had the idea for Aneksi for quite a while now, but I actually first drew her up about a month ago. The Glyph and the Ankhgorians combine elements of some of my favourite things (ancient Egypt, steampunk, aliens, comic books, cartoons/anime, and video games). The Ankhgorians are an ancient alien race of my design/creation. The Glyph is a human/Ankhgorian hybrid. Ozymandias is the first Ankhgorian that I created (also in the mid-90's). I've left it up in the air as to whether Aneksi is an Ankhgorian or a hybrid like The Glyph. Originally, The Glyph just had spikey hair, but that randomly evolved into tentacles over time. The "Library of Congress" links for both characters go into more detail, but that's the gist of it.

Before posting my characters on Facebook, I did a little research. My research can be summed up by Snopes:

www.snopes.com/computer/facebo…

but, basically, it seems fairly safe for creators to post their creations on Facebook and still maintain their copyright. Also, a lot of artists (amateur and professional) have posted their creations on Facebook, and I haven't heard about any of them having any problems at all.

However, based on my research on posting things on deviantART, I include the usage of ™, ©, All rights reserved., and the "Stop you are not authorized to use this artwork" icon(s) on the bottom of all my postings. Facebook doesn't require such things, but it seems that deviantART does.

And thanks for the cool comment, I appreciate it.
