My character Dengeki Ryouji battling it out with Wolverine by the mega-talented Kevin Shah, a.k.a. Color-Reaper! I'm sure the fight started due to some innocent, mutual misunderstanding...
Anyway... I really dig Kevin's wicked cool signature drawing style! Kevin did a an incredible job on the super dynamic poses, details, and colours/fx too!I created the faux comic book cover for Kevin Shah's killer artwork by mashing-up several old Marvel comic book covers, the Marvel Comics Group [URW Franklin Gothic Heavy] Fonted-text by URW Studio, the Fakt Soft Pro Medium Fonted-text by Thomas Thiemich of OurType, John Byrne's corner box cover art for Wolverine, my concept drawings of Dengeki Ryouji & Kid Glyph, the Wolverine [Wolf's Bane 2 Expanded] Fonted-text by Daniel Zadorozny, a.k.a, Iconian Fonts, a *SNIKT* effect I added some 'blood' to, AND something borrowed from Mad Magazine...
I designed Dengeki Ryouji as an homage to my favourite character ever, Great Mazinger, who was created by Go Nagai The Mecha Master! I, also, included some elements from the X-Men's Nightcrawler [by master designer Dave Cockrum] and Colossus [who was also created by The Dave Cockrum], when designing Dengeki. The Eye of Horus, samurai, and knights were also key elements in Dengeki's design.
