They were based off of them. The story started as a Naruto fanfic but then kinda branched into it's own thing. The design just kinda stayed.

lol well maybe you hanging with the wrong crowd unless its just som sexual style of jokes in high school i had a group of friend where there was only one girl. we talked alot like she was a guy but with more sexual jokes since we were like 10 guys lol XD
