Because of the drought situation, the owners of this farm had to have two bores drilled, to bring some water up from under ground.

A whole lot of clay comes up at first, so the workers were just chucking it all to the side. The sloppy clay gradually laid itself flat on the ground and set.... and then cracked in the heat. So, that's what this photo is of - cracked up clay all over the ground.

The pieces are really thick, about 3cm or so - so they're more like small slabs. Either way, it was at a perfect stage to be picked up and carted off to any art classroom

Note: I stupidly forgot to check the ISO on my camera when I went away, and it was up at 1600 because the last time I'd used it was somewhere dark. I didn't realise I'd left it up so high until 200 shots later. Still angry at myself.
