I didn't think this series can get any better, but you proved me wrong.
This one is the strongest so far, in my opinion.

I love these long exposures--really beautiful. I like the way it makes the buildings seem timeless against an ephemeral sky.

can I ask you which lens do you use Alain?
I'm ready to buy the 5D, and I have 17-40 class L.... do you think it is enought good?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

etchepare In reply to glitterdarkstar [2008-04-02 20:10:46 +0000 UTC]

yes of course

I'm using 16-35 f2.8 L canon

I dint use 17-40, but i believe that Michel Rajkovik use it, and i believe he is satisfied

Very good news for you for 5D

ehehh I really hope I can have it in 15 days
I HOPE alain.... but otherwise I feat I m not good enought.
can I ask you for advice??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

etchepare In reply to glitterdarkstar [2008-04-03 19:47:45 +0000 UTC]

about my lens ? yes

I'm satisfied by this lens, and by 24-105 f4 L too, both of are very good.
But you must know that the last version of 16-35 is with 82mm diameter, and maybe any filter exist for this lens, very bad feeling. Mine is old version, with little more less quality, but i can use filter.

i was interested to note that marc adamus [link] moved from the 17-40 to the 16-35 - he rated the 16-35 as the much better lens. my 2c

glitterdarkstar In reply to grevys [2008-04-03 07:50:20 +0000 UTC]

thanks you I'll read! Anyway at the moment I can't buy a lens too. And I have 17-40 yet. so for a while it will be my "kt" lens

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

grevys In reply to glitterdarkstar [2008-04-03 07:57:23 +0000 UTC]

marc did produce amazing results with the 17-40 as well. i cannot remember exactly when he posted his rationale for transferring to the 16-35 but it's there somewhere. and given the quality of your work, what you have now is evidently a good tool!
