There was once a powerful prince, who had set out to conquer the lands and territories around him. He was a rather hedonistic prince, who enjoyed indulging in all sorts of pleasures and pastimes, and very much encouraged all to engage in such activities. When addressing his enemies, he offered them riches, bliss, and all kinds of pleasures that their hearts would desire. It was said that he won the hearts of many unsatisfied princesses and queens, and even enticed kings and men. Despite this, he was also a brilliant commander and warrior, able to best some of the finest knights. His words also had a certain power to them, as he would often speak in battle. Every word he spoke often affected his opponents, causing their downfall. Some claim it to be magic, but others say it was akin to the abilities of a bard. Many lands would look at his kingdom with envy, believing it to be a paradise. In truth, this was only seen in the major cities, where such activities were done daily. The majority of his kingdom was a dreary slum, filled with slaves that toiled away. Their minds had been warped by a special drug, which placed them in a state of excessive happiness. Even as sickness and hunger ravaged their bodies, these slaves wouldn't know better. For years, it had been like this, until a priest discovered the reality of the kingdom. He started by helping one person on their feet, and gradually went on to heal hundreds more. Soon, the people would rise up against the prince, and overthrow him, with many of his own councilors fleeing to protect their interests. The kingdom itself was a devastated wasteland, and it would have taken many more years to restore. However, it was where it would start to heal.
