On the same night every year, Baltasar disappears for the entire night. It's no mystery where he goes, and usually there's a couple of the night watch who make sure to check up on him without disturbing his rest.Those who go looking for him will see him sleeping next to an odd black stone. While those outside the clan or young enough to not know won't understand, those of Baltasar's generation and older will know it's a homemade tombstone. There's no name, but there's only one it could belong to...

I really love how you did the perspective, background and details on this one. It really looks like a lonely piece and almost looks like something you'd pull out of an old story book.
Poor Balt looks fabulous the way you drew him but he definitely needs hugs, Celia would be glad to offer these up whether he likes it or not, and Odin would surely be okay with checking in on him once in a while during duties.

I'm sure Balt would trust Odin to not bother him on these nights. Though after Celia starts sticking around I wonder if him just up and vanishing would get her worried. He tells no one but the night watch where he's going, and also tells them to make sure nobody bothers him.

They'd have to deal with a lady nagging at them about how horrible it is that they wont tell her where he is and such.
