Ahh thank you! Scaling is super easy - I just throw on some white circles laying close to one another (I actually did bright pale blue on this guy bc the lighting/shadowing was cool toned to offset all his warm tones) and following where I think natural scales would go (around the eyes bc they needed more definition and I wanted attention drawn there) on an overlay layer, erase the edges with a soft brush so I get a gradient fade, and lower the opacity until I'm happy
