Description
This one was taxing for some reason. I was starting to feel 'artist block', and think I was losing my edge.....Alan Lee epitomised Isengard, and no one can compare to his realisation of 'Mount Fang'.
I'm determined to continue with this series and run the blockade. There are several to do!
Pray for me, cross your fingers, or whatever you deem proper to help me keep going.
I THINK Edoras is next.... or maybe Zirakzigil......

God, this is awesome! This darkness and light creates great contrast; fires, moon shining and stars and reflections! Detailed piece of art, to put it simply. The style you used is interesting as always, this looks like crayons-work. This kind of painting I would like to see in my home.
Excellent use of colours here - I like that its not just brown and grey although you have shown you can use them effectively as well.
I have to admit, that Tower Orthanc from the movies IS the best I have seen.
Definitely looking forwards to see more of your sceneries! No pressures, pal, take all time it needs and polish it!

Tis a mighty test for me to apply more colour to the light on dark series. I appreciate the kind comment on my use of them. 
I've had a bit of artist's block lately. But I enjoyed a trip to a horror film festival which has sparked a zombie and monster compulsion! So, although I intend to do more sceneries from Tolkien, for the time being I'm stepping into the realm of horror!
Hope you'll like what's coming up! By the way, are you not working on some zombie stuff?

Definitely, I'm waiting for more. I like watching your and Wouters (architectural) illustrations, inspired by Tolkiens works.
Hehe, fear not while entering the realm of the Undead! 
While I'm not drawing any horror scenes with "traditional" tools (working on new Lotr illustration atm), I'm trying to use the famous digital way this time. Darkness and light might be easier to illustrate, as drawing ink has it limits when it comes to heavy shadows. Or, my budget has limits (last zombie-drawing consumed 2-3 drawing inks... Cost me about 12 euros...
